ALL ABOUT CURRENT TRENDS IN WORKOUTS

When someone tells me ‘I don’t like working out’ I always ask them to challenge themselves and go and try multiple types of physical activities before they make this assumption. There are so many you can choose from and they are all so different from one another. Your body is made for movement that’s why I think it’s important to go out of your conform zone and simply give a try to anything, from a kickboxing class to a cycling class.

I will list below the most popular types of exercising that you might want to consider:

 

🟪 Home Workouts

With the current situation happening all around the globe, many people have switched from gym training to home training. You can find lots of solutions on how to keep up with your current body goals on a quick google search, from hip-thrusting with your boyfriend on your lap instead of using a barbell to doing dips on your kitchen cabinets. 

 

🟨 Calisthenics 

❓A type of workout in which you only use your body weight for exercising, such as push-ups, pull-ups or dips. 

I have seen thousands of people on Instagram mastering difficult calisthenics movements such as the muscle-up or the human flag. How amazing! In Dubai calisthenics has gained a lot of popularity and the few outdoor calisthenics parks are always overcrowded.

 

🟩 Hot Yoga 

❓ You basically do yoga in a room that is heated. It feels like you're doing yoga inside a big sauna - the temperature would be 40 degrees and the humidity level 40 percent. They say it helps on improving the overall flexibility.

 

It took 3 failed attempts before I finally caught a place at a hot yoga class while living in Singapore. The class was held 2x day at the gym I was going and it was definitely one of the most popular. The places were occupied in less than 30 minutes. 

 

🟧 Barre

❓It's a type or workout that has a combination of movements inspired from ballet. Bonus: it works out your calves like no other workout. 

 

This unique combination of flexibility, balance, and skills has become a favorite for many people who are keen to try something new. 

 

🟥 EMS 

❓Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) training is a type of training that uses a wearable device that attaches to the body, stimulating your muscles through tiny electrodes that accelerate your workout and enhance your body-toning results. 

 

They say you burn 500 calories in 20 minutes. This one is advertised as 'a perfect workout' people who are in a rush and want a shortcut to their dream body. 

Find your crush!

 In sports everybody has a preference. Find your crush! It's the only way to stick to it. 

✅Do: go for at least 5 session so that you can get the sense of it. First few times you'll be learning how to move your body in a specific way. 

✅Explore: Try kick boxing. Try weights training. Try CrossFit. Go cycling. Go for a run. Do yoga. Do Pilates. Swim. Dance. 

✅Find a sports buddy: it's always much easier if you go there with someone you know. It will take away the pressure a little bit. 

✅Have fun: I don't think I will go for a second lesson of aerial yoga anytime soon, but it was definitely fun to see in the mirror my body in a hanging hammock while trying to control my breath, being too scared that I will fall and break a leg (or two).
